Duration: 20 minutes (when available)

Trust Is Built Through Predictability

Trust isn't built through grand gestures. It's built through small, consistent moments of showing up exactly the way you said you would.

The Equation

Trust = Reliability + Transparency + Repair. Over time. Repeatedly.

The Trust Inventory

What trust looks like for the Pursuer:

  • Knowing when you'll be back
  • Clear communication about plans
  • Reaching out without being asked
  • Reliability with texts and calls

What trust looks like for the Withdrawer:

  • Respect for space and silence
  • Not being punished for needing time
  • Trust that you won't be pursued during a pause
  • Knowing the conversation can wait

Predictability Rituals

Create rituals that give your partner's nervous system evidence of safety:

  • Daily check-in, even just a text that says "thinking of you"
  • Weekly connection time, scheduled, protected, non-negotiable
  • Space agreements, clear signals for when you need time vs. when you're avoiding
  • Repair rituals, how you come back together after conflict
This Lesson's Exercise

Trust Inventory (Do Together)

Each partner answers:

1. What small things make me feel safe and trusted with you?
2. What do I need to feel reliably connected?
3. What predictability rituals would help our relationship?
