Identity Beyond The Bond
Somewhere along the way, you stopped being yourself. Your identity got absorbed into the relationship, the waiting, the trying. The bond didn't just take your peace it took your edges.
You exist without them. You existed before them. Your identity is not their approval.
The Before-During-After Inventory
Who were you before the bond?
- What did you like that had nothing to do with relationships?
- What were your opinions, preferences, passions?
- Who did you spend time with?
- What made you feel alive?
During the bond, what got lost?
- What did you give up?
- What opinions did you silence?
- Who did you stop seeing?
After what do you want back?
The Reclamation Practice
This week, reclaim one thing:
- A preference, something you like that has nothing to do with them
- A boundary, something you stopped enforcing
- A person, someone you neglected
- A ritual, something that made you feel like yourself
You're not becoming someone new. You're uncovering who you were before the bond buried you.
The Reclamation List
Write down 10 things that are yours that exist completely separate from him:
These can be interests, opinions, friendships, habits, places, music, anything. The only rule: it must be yours, not connected to the bond.
